AN ACT TO REPEAL SECTION 41-53-11, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH REQUIRES LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS TO KILL CERTAIN DOGS RUNNING AT LARGE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Section 41-53-11, Mississippi Code of 1972, which requires local law enforcement officers to kill any dog above the age of three (3) months found running at large on whose neck there is no such collar and tag, is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1999.
